»UND ALLES IST WEG«
»And everything is gone« | Places of the First World War in Poland
After extensive research, Eric Pawlitzky traveled to places in Poland where battles and other acts of violence occurred during the First World War. Together with the source texts for the events, he depicts the often romanticlooking landscapes in their present state with a contemporary camera. In addition, he made photographs with a plate camera, built in 1985. He has exposed these negatives as cyanotypes.
A book has been published by the artist in German and Polish.
For the opening reception there will be introductions by Tommy Spree (Anti-Kriegs-Museum), Stephan von Dassel (District Mayor of Berlin-Mitte) and Jens Pepper (Art Critic).
Jens Pepper in conversation with Eric Pawlitzky (in German) on the Obst Und Muse website.
The exhibition is part of Monat der Fotografie-OFF Berlin 2018.
