Solo Exhibition / Publication
Anne Schönharting has spent ten years photographing people in their flats in Berlin-Charlottenburg. In her subtly composed images, we see the portrayed people and their flats in wondrous, sometimes almost cinematic situations. Women, men, couples, families, students, children – all in their very own style. Sometimes only the view of an empty room, a window, a door tells us about the people who live in this place and the constellations of their cohabitation. Here, the flat becomes an individual stage, a place of self-expression as well as of social positioning. In the synopsis of the pictures, a fascinating atmosphere is created that allows us to experience a world of its own between phantasm and reality. Over everything lies the glamour of the special, which sometimes also has bizarre aspects.
A book (incl. a limited edition) will be published by Hartmann Books to accompany the exhibition.
