The photographers went on the search for their own “buried” pictures and photos, fragments full of memories and possibilities, which were hidden away in old boxes or concealed somewhere on their hard drives. Family photos, holiday pictures and snapshots came to light, as well as all sorts of works that had been started and then set aside. The task Ursula Kelm put to the students in her advanced class at imago Fotokunst was to study them with curiosity and open minded and to discover recurrent themes and pursuing them further. Eight very personal photographic projects emerged with different visual languages. They range from graphic, dreamlike or fairytale-like explorations of the environment, to the processing of important events from their own biographies or family histories, to collage-like emotional fragments for approaching their own identities.
