Seven photographic positions trace the variety of colors of our time, sometimes translucent like a glaze, sometimes opaque like a new coat of paint over old layers of paint. It’s about shadows of the past in the light of the Siberian tundra that still have an impact today. About traditions that are lived and at the same time processed in a museum, like those that are difficult to escape from every year. At stake are human existences, certainties and new beginnings elsewhere, as well as a careful perception of the most species-rich group of all living beings, the insects. And questions arise, for example whether growing up can be protected and free at the same time and what happens when family memories are reinterpreted by algorithms and thus torn out of their time.
ZEITKOLORIT was curated by Eva Bertram, freelance photo artist and lecturer at the New School for Photography and the UdK Berlin. The “Freie Klasse Eva Bertram” has existed since 2013 and is a workshop format for contextualizing personal, self-selected photo projects that arise outside of school or student framework conditions.
